As I have previously shared last week as well as here and here, although I resisted for many years, I have discovered my greatest power is choice. Making my decision(s) regarding my intentions, plans, and actions. My life.
The following song, Carmen Mosier’s Choose inspires and encourages me when I’m struggling with doubt and indecision. Listen carefully to the message and the melody. What message do you receive?
Carmen Moshier ~ Choose
What’s The Point?
Everything I can now do, I first couldn’t. While sucking at it, I practiced until I did it. I suspect childhood holds some of my most difficult challenges.
Consider learning to walk. A child falls so many times. As an adult, I doubt I would continue to struggle against the countless falls common to all while learning to walk.
Another childhood experience I use to encourage others is when I learned to print the alphabet. Think about it. Children, in front of their peers, are instructed to draw a line over the dots in a letter.
The teacher at the blackboard has modeled it, demonstrated it, and now instructed the students to repeat. The child is excited yet stressed when finding it harder than it looked.
Years later, looking back at it, it’s easy to smile and laugh. But not so much then. Then it was stressful! Often, I prayed to get through that moment and for it to get easier.
For many, my childhood experiences resonate with them. Was it the same for you as well?
I’ve discovered and experienced that my life’s point isn’t about a life of wealth and luxury. Rather, it’s leading a fairy tale life. As if taken from an inspiring story of imaging great things, then bringing them to life. Fighting giants for what I choose to believe in.
I realized life’s point isn’t “What do I expect from life?” but instead to ask myself “What does life expect from me?
Until next time,
Joe
